Jimmy Lakey
Sept. 7, 1937 ~ Aug. 8, 2011

ENID - The funeral for Jimmy Lakey was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sunshine, Ark., under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs, Ark.

Jimmy Lakey was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Carmen, Okla., to William Icel and Elba E. (Gannon) Lakey and passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in Hot Springs, Ark., at the age of 73.

On July 27, 1957, he was married to Pauline M. Horne.

Jimmy graduated from Carmen High Schooland attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

He was in the insurance business for 30 years and started Lakey Insurance in 1996, retired in 2007.

He was Methodist in faith and was active in church choirs. Jimmy was a charter member of Garland County Tea Party and also a member of the Dixie Shooters.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Willa Mae Lakey.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Polly M. Lakey of Hot Springs, Ark.; son, Brent Lakey and wife Cara of Hot Springs, Ark.; daughter, Penny L. Evers and husband Terry of Hot Springs, Ark.; two grandchildren, Cali Lakey Suit and Weston Lakey; two great-grandchildren, Layne Suit and Rilynn Willa Suit; brother, Larry Lakey of Sand Springs, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
