Jimmie Cleo “Jim” LaBlue

Jimmie Cleo “Jim” LaBlue
November 12, 1941 ~ March 20, 2024

Ponca City, Oklahoma - On March 20th, 2024, Jimmie “Jim” Cleo LaBlue went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 82. There will be a celebration of life March 25th, 2024, 3:00 PM at Ponca City Assembly of God Church, 2313 E. Prospect, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Jim was born in Blackwell, OK on November 12th, 1941, to Norvell LaBlue and Lillie LaBlue. He lived in Blackwell throughout his childhood and adolescence. He was a multiple sport athlete during his high school years. He excelled in football, basketball, and running track. He graduated from Blackwell High School in 1959. His first job was hauling hay with his father. He then went to work for McDonald Douglas in California until 1969. He came back to Oklahoma where he went to work for Carbon Black. Jim moved to San Antonio, TX in 1986 where he went to work for a heat and air manufacturer. While in San Antonio he was stuck by lighting while fishing with his son Terry and son-in-law. In 1989 he moved back to Blackwell, OK where he went to work for Smith Tool. He later retired from Smith at the age of 65.

Jim loved his family more than anything. His children and grandchildren were very precious to him. Jim enjoyed going fishing. He had a great love for bass fishing with his children throughout his life. Perhaps his greatest joy was playing golf with his children and brother Dannie. He genuinely enjoyed playing golf with “the old guys” during the week. Jim always said, “he would play golf eight days a week.” He always had a smile on his face and a funny saying on his lips. He loved to make people smile with his quick wit. He loved talking to people and never met a stranger. Jim had a warm, loving, and funny personality that just made you love him.

Jim is survived by his wife Darlene LaBlue of the home, son Deon Allen, wife Sarah of Stillwater, OK, daughter Tami Amoroso, husband Tommy of Newnan, GA, son Jimmie LaBlue, Jr, wife Stacy of Ponca City, OK, brother Dannie LaBlue, wife Kathy, of Blackwell, OK, brother Kyle Esparza of Wichita, KS, brother Norvell Gene LaBlue, wife Sheila of Ponca City, OK. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is proceeded in death by his father Norvell LaBlue, Mother Lillie Spaulding, sons Terry LaBlue, Brian LaBlue, and Dean Allen.

Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.gracememorialchapel.net.
