Wilma Fern (Fields) Kranz
September 17, 1937 ~ October 12, 2020 (age 83)

Wilma Kranz was born September 17, 1937 in Hominy, the daughter, of Harvey Elmer Fields and Hattie Alabama Kirkendoll Fields and passed from this life in Oklahoma City on October 12, 2020. She and Doug Kranz were married May 26, 1971 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. Wilma’s caring nature led her to become a nurse and she practiced this skill for many years. She and Doug had lived in the Alva area for fifty years.

Wilma was a very talented person who owned her own antique store for twenty plus years and refinished furniture. She also liked to fish, garden, collect rocks, paint and draw. She loved her grandkids as well as the rest of her family. Wilma was an avid OU fan. Her church in Alva was Grace and Faith Fellowship.

Those who have preceded her in death include her parents, Harvey and Hattie Fields; two infant children; her daughter, Bobbie Failes; one grandson, Douglas Simon; two sisters, Zelma McGuffey and Joyce Layton; two brothers, Ulas Fields and Lowell Fields.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Doug Kranz; daughter, Dana Franklin; son, Steve Simon and wife, Jackie; son-in-law, Larry Failes; five grandchildren, Tonya Tullis, Tommy Sanborn and wife, Stacy, Jessie Simon, Glorie Stuck, Jacob Simon; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Celebration of life service for Wilma will be Monday, October 26, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Cherokee. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.
