Martha Ruth (Bassett) Koshiway
April 10, 1933 ~ February 23, 2023 | 89 Years Old

Martha Ruth (Bassett) Koshiway, 89 years of age, has gone home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, February 23, 2023. Martha attended and graduated from the Chilocco Indian School. She had lived in the Oklahoma City area and worked in the dry cleaning business for years and had moved home to Red Rock. Martha was born to Joe and Geniveve Bassett on April 10, 1933, her parents were Native American Church members and raised their family this way.

Those left behind to cherish Martha’s memory are her children: Rita Koshiway, Oklahoma City, Deswood Koshiway, Del City, Diane Koshiway, Oklahoma City, George Koshiway, Red Rock, and Victoria Koshiway, Shawnee; 23 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Howery of Red Rock and Linda Francis of Red Rock.

Her parents, three brothers and two sisters, and her son, Jerome Koshiway have preceded her in death.

Martha has had a long blessed life with us, many relatives, special friends, adopted family and acquaintances have touched her life, she loved to go to dances, family gatherings and to travel. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and kindness given to our mother and the family.

Funeral services for Martha will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023, 2pm, at the Otoe Cultural Center. Online condolences may be made at www.gracememorialchapel.net.
