James Morton Koons

James Morton Koons
August 3, 1933 ~ August 29, 2023

James M. Koons was born in Centerton, Arkansas to Paul Koons and Bessie Koons. He passed away peacefully on August 29, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and sister. He is survived by his wife, Billie K Koons, his children, Marjorie Lynn, Drusilla, Christina, James, Jamie, and Jim. In addition to his children, he is survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

His family was very important to him, and he left his mark on many of us. He will be forever remembered and appreciated by friends and family.

James was an amazing man, he started driving trucks at the age of 14, eventually becoming the number 1 driver at Wal-Mart. He won two state driving championships while driving for Wal-Mart, in addition to several safety awards. He also spent over 20 years driving for Caywood Trucking.

James was a dedicated father, proud of his children and grandchildren.
