Lena Francis (Bratcher) Koonce

December 26, 1908 ~ January 26, 2012

Graveside services for Lena Francis Koonce, 103, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 28 at the New Resthaven Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas with David Whittington officiating.

Born December 26, 1908, in Wauhillau, the daughter of James Albert and Martha Amina Wortman Bratcher, she died Thursday, January 26, 2012, in Marietta.

Mrs. Koonce married Leo Koonce on January 11, 1934.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Leo Koonce in 1954, her husband, Leo Koonce in 1992 and a daughter, Merle Francis Koonce in 1993.

Mrs. Koonce is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny Koonce of Gainesville, Clayton and Toni Koonce and Grady Koonce, all of Thackerville; grandchildren Sharyn Hope and husband Terry of Katy, Texas, John K. Koonce of Gainesville, Brandon Yancey and wife Claire of Keller, Texas, Casey Koonce, also of Thackerville, and Lesley Pearman and husband Jeremy of Purcell; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Rouse of Marietta.

Memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
