Jarrett Levi Koblitz

 September 12, 2000 ~ October 12, 2019

Jarrett Levi Koblitz, 12+7 years, passed away on October 12, 2019, at home in Hazelton after living a beautiful life despite being born with MPS I/Hurler's Syndrome, a terminal genetic illness.

In September of 2000, Justin and Shelly Koblitz along with their daughters, Morgan and Paige, announced to the world that "We have roped a bit of heaven. We have corralled so much joy. We proudly announce our precious little cowboy." Jarrett was born on September 12, 2000, at Wichita, Kansas. He commanded attention from Day One coming into this world as a big boy at 10 pounds 3.2 ounces. He was the talk of the OB unit for several days before going to his home on the farm outside of Hazelton, Kansas.

Jarrett loved his life, his home, the people in his life, animals, pizza, Dr. Pepper, Funyuns, and Pokemon! Despite entering the world as a big boy, he lived his remainder of life in a small body with a gigantic personality. He made friends with everyone, from near and far, and developed quite a following of friends, supporters, fans and prayer warriors in his 12+7 years.

Jarrett attended school in Kiowa, Kansas, at South Barber Elementary until his health declined to the point he was no longer able to attend, and he officially and proudly became a dropout. Much to his parents' dismay, this was something he proudly and loudly proclaimed to everyone he knew. That is just one small example of the person/personality that Jarrett was: proud, bossy, funny, stubborn and very resistant to any change. He never ever knew he was different from the other kids. They treated him with nothing but love, helpfulness, and respect as did everyone.

Jarrett was preceded in death by his grandparents: John Dee Myers and Carol Marie Pierce Myers (Kay Myers); great grandparents, Arvey and Etta Yates, Cleta and Harry Myers, Jake Pierce, Lloyd, and Daisy Summers, Dutch and Helen Cantrell, Alva and Anna Marie Koblitz.

He is survived by his parents, Justin and Shelly Koblitz; sisters, Morgan and Paige Koblitz; grandparents, Ivan and LeAnn Koblitz, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at South Barber High School on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 2 p.m. Arrangements will be provided by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Online condolences may be made at
 http://www.lanmanmemorials.com.

Suggested memorials are South Barber Elementary School and the National MPS Society through the funeral home.
