Venetta Pearl (Gibson) Knox
August 13, 1939 ~ October 7, 2020 (age 81)

Venetta Pearl Knox was born August 13, 1939 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Ralph Edgar and Ruth E. (Ballard) Gibson. She passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Duncan.

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, October 14, at 1:00 P.M. at the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ with Leonard Keele officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/ Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Venetta graduated in 1957 from Duncan High School. On June 1, 1957 she married Lloyd 'Carter' Knox in Duncan. To this union, three children - Joel, Jana and Jeff - were born. Venetta was employed in the Drafting Section of Surface Engineering at Halliburton for 24 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and playing golf. She had a wonderful voice and loved to sing. Times spent with her children grandchildren and great-grands were especially important to her. Venetta was a faithful member of the church of Christ her whole life. She loved her Lord with all her heart.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Jimmy Gibson. Venetta is survived by her husband, Carter; children: Joel and Karalea Knox of Tyler, Texas, Jana and Frank Farmer of Chickasha, Jeff and Shelley Knox of Fresno, California; grandchildren: Jacob Knox, Loralea Ray, Terrah and Galen Walls, Chance Farmer, Stephanie and Steven Duvall; and 8 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Chisholm Trail Compassion Center, 3204 West Beech Avenue, Duncan, OK 73533.
