John Wesley Knott was born on October 23, 1952 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Willie Glen Knott and Amy Lois (Throop) Knott, the youngest of 10 children. He passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years, 4 months, and 10 days.
John, a lifetime resident of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, graduated from Locust Grove High School. He spent many years working for Jesse Ross and The Ross Group, doing many construction jobs all over the state. John enjoyed rodeoing where he participated in bull riding and steer wrestling.
John is survived by: 1 sister Katherine Ellison and husband Ken of Creede, Colorado; 1 brother: Jerry Knott and wife Glinda of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces and nephews that loved him.
He was preceded in death by: 4 brothers Dale Knott, Nathan Knott, David Knott and Bill Knott; 3 sisters: Alice Saffell, Donna Rutherford and Shirley Knott; as well as nephews: Tony Knott, Eric Ellison, Joe Rutherford and nieces: Joanie Durnal, Jerri Dawn Knott.
No services are planned. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
