Paula (Cheuses) Kitching

November 10, 1921 ~ 2016 | Age 94

Paula left her earthly body at home in Stilwell at age 94. She was born in New York City to James Cheuses and Mary Schutz Cheuses on November 10, 1921 and was the fifth of eight children.

She graduated from high school in New York City and went on to work for the Manhattan Project, developing the atomic bomb, during WWII. Her husband and four brothers served in WWII. After the war she worked as the executive secretary for the Cunnard Lines (the Queen Mary) and then later for Phelps Dodge Copper Company.

She married Cort Kitching in April 1943 and had one son, Robert Kitching of Stilwell.

She is survived by her son Robert, granddaughters Shannin Kitching of Seattle, WA; Shaleem Kitching of Portland Oregon, two sisters and one brother who reside in New York City.

Paula was happy to spend the last six months of her life living with her son Robert and enjoying country life in the Ozarks.
