Kenyon Mekhi King

July 25, 2003 ~ August 14, 2012

Kenyon Mekhi King earned his angel wings on August 14, 2012, after a 7 year battle with cancer. Kenyon was born on July 25, 2003. He never ceased to amaze each and every one of us. No matter what life dealt him each day, his perseverance and determination to live life to the fullest has inspired and humbled everyone who was touched by him personally or through his story. Kenyon was such a warrior and is now a warrior with Jesus, as his mission here on earth has been completed and he is FREE and in the arms of Jesus.

Kenyon enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding the ATV with his Papa, playing basketball and going to the beach. He and his family were very blessed to have the opportunity to do and see so many things together. The memories they made will be forever cherished.

Kenyon is survived by his mother, Sarah Elizabeth VanHorn of the home; father, Kevin King of Tulsa, OK; sister, MaKennah Brianne VanHorn of the home; brothers: Kevin M. King, Jr. and Ke'Shon M. King of Illinois; papa and nana, David and Brenda VanHorn of Bartlesville; paternal grandmother, Irene Thomas of Las Vegas, NV; Nenaw, Mary VanHorn; aunts: Becca VanHorn of Dewey, AZ and Bethany VanHorn of Claremore, OK; along with many relatives and friends.

A celebration of Kenyon's life and home going will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville.
