Curtis Van "Pete" King

June 14, 1931 ~ July 8, 2007

Curtis Van King (known to us all as Pete) was the son of William and Alice (Quick) King was born June 14, 1931 at Siloam Springs, Arkansas and departed this life on July 8, 2007 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 76 years and 24 days old.

Pete served in the U.S. Navy from December 1950 to October 1954. He married Clovita McDaniels Pharr, September 10, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma and with this union came 3 sons and 1 daughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife Clovita in 2003, his parents, 2 brothers; Jack and Don King and 1 sister; Betty Dorsett.

Pete & Clovita lived in New Mexico and Watts, Oklahoma before moving to Westville, Oklahoma in 1970. They opened the Conoco station south of 62 & 59 highways which they operated until 1974. Moving their business to downtown Westville on Williams & Main, he continued his station business until his retirement in the late 90's.

He is survived by his children, 3 sons; Larry Pharr, Ron Pharr and wife Beverly, Rick Pharr and wife Trella all of Westville, Oklahoma, 1 daughter; Karen Perkins and husband Ron of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren 2 sisters; Sue Janes of Westville, Oklahoma, Arlene Tonsing of Watts, Oklahoma, 1 brother Gary King and wife Judy of Disney, Oklahoma and a host of relatives and friends.
