Mantoura (Em Georges) Khoury

Mantoura (Em Georges) Khoury
June 25, 1925 ~ February 14, 2026

Mantoura “Em George” Khoury of Norman, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026 at the age of 100. She was born on June 25, 1925 in Miziara, Lebanon to her loving parents, Assaad Sleiman and Anna Rafoul.

On June 18, 1945, Mantoura married the love of her life, Louis Khoury. They shared a beautiful marriage of seventy years built on faith, devotion, and unwavering love until his passing on December 5, 2014. Their union was a testament to commitment and partnership, and together they created a legacy that continues through their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mantoura was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She loved church hymns, faithfully prayed the rosary, and attended church every single day. She was a driving force behind Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Norman and was a founding member as well as a devoted member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her church was her second home, and her church family was dear to her heart.

Her family was her greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren and delighted in cooking their favorite Lebanese foods, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her kitchen. For ten years she also worked alongside her son at La Baguette, lovingly preparing a variety of desserts and sharing her strong work ethic and joyful spirit with all around her.

The most important lessons Mantoura taught were simple yet profound. She taught her family to trust in God and pray to Him daily. She reminded them always to put God and family first, and to love and treat every person with respect. She lived these values faithfully each day of her life. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a hardworking woman who cared deeply for her family and her church family. She loved her family deeply and showed that love through her prayers and the many meals she lovingly prepared for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Louis Khoury, her daughter Josette Kassis, her son George Khoury, her son in law Khalil Dina, and her siblings Hanna Sleiman, Bitrous Sleiman, Youssef Sleiman, Boulas Sleiman, Antoon Sleiman, Victoria Chagoury, Frangeye Rouhana, Tamam Fadoul, and Basma Rafoul.

She is survived by her children Leila Dina of Norman, Gloria Abou-Nassar and her spouse Elias Abou-Nassar of Norman, Michel Khoury and his spouse Nouha Khoury of Norman, Jean Khoury and his spouse Marlene Khoury of Miziara, Lebanon, Richard Khouri and his spouse Vivian Khouri of Norman, Rodolphe “Rudy” Khouri and his spouse Regina Khouri of Norman, Lina Chagoury and her spouse Philip Chagoury of Norman, and Yves El-Khoury and his spouse Leila El-Khoury of Sydney, Australia. She is also survived by her sister Marie Abed of Miziara, Lebanon, twenty eight grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren, and many extended family members who will continue to honor her legacy of faith and love.

Mantoura will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A prayer service will be held Saturday, February 21st at 2:00 pm at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held Sunday, February 22nd at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Mantoura’s memory.
