Jennie Eve Kester
January 22, 1955 ~ June 14, 2016

Jennie Eve Kester, daughter of Betty Jo McLemore, was born on January 22, 1955 in Tahlequah, OK and departed this life on June 14, 2016 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 61 years, 4 months, and 21 days. She was raised by Isaac and Elizabeth Jones and referred to them as "Mom and Pop."

She worked as a laboratory technician at Stilwell Memorial Hospital and Wilma P. Mankiller Clinic. Jennie enjoyed doing puzzles and being outdoors to dig wild onions in the Spring. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Jennie spoke fluent Cherokee as a child, but lost some of her ability after she went to school. Most importantly, Jennie was saved, loved her Lord, and attended church at First Baptist.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vera Jones and a son, Billy Wayne Sawney.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Kenny Kester of the home in Stilwell; her children, Jodie Kester and husband Bobby; Sara Hammer and husband, Levi; and Benjamin Kester all of Stilwell. 9 Grandchildren; Leslie Kester, Erin Kester, Brynnley Kester, Chaylon Putnam, Saydee J. Putnam, Elijah Hammer, Jenna Hammer, Landon Kester,and Emma Kester. She had brothers and sisters that live in the Tulsa area; Richard, Robert, Roberta, Jill, and Judy. She had a niece she considered a sister in spirit, Carolyn Jones- Bark as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
