Donald Richard Kerr
October 17, 1933 ~ October 15, 2023

Donald Richard Kerr, “Papa Don”, went home to be with Jesus on October 15, 2023. The family will be celebrating his 89 years of life at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at First Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Don was born on October 17, 1933, to Oran and Alma “Babe” Kerr. Don attended and graduated the 8th Grade from Lula Schools. He has been a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church for over 50 years, and he even served as a bus driver for the church.

Don was a devoted husband to Margie for 63 years, and a loving father to his four children. Don loved spending time with his all of his family and friends. He was a wonderful provider for his family and worked for the City of Ada for over 50 years starting out in sanitation on the back of a garbage truck and working up to water superintendent when he retired. Don was outspoken always offering his words of wisdom and opinions freely. Don loved to say "you have to keep on keeping on".

Some of his hobbies included visiting friends and family, calling everyone in his phone book, watching the Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right, attending funerals’, and attending Mary’s Music Barn on the 3rd Saturday of every month. Daddy was a good Daddy. He was always there to help people when they needed it. Come Saturday night he was always ready to go to a singing. He was faithful to go to nursing homes and the hospital to visit when someone was sick.

Survived by children, Keith Kerr and wife Debra of Stonewall and Kenneth Kerr and wife Linda Sue of Wilburton, OK; two daughters, Dawna Hutchings-Ailey and husband Keith of Ardmore, OK and Karen Roundtree of Stonewall; sisters, Mary McDonald and Louie of Stonewall, Patrica Gregory and Bob of Stonewall, and a special friend Mary Lou; nine grandchildren, Jobrena Tucker, Amanda and Jake Brooks, Luke and Talia Kerr, Chris and Lori Roundtree, Kent and Traci Kerr, Taylor Kerr, Keressa Kerr, April Kratky and Maekayla and Joe Holloway; twenty-three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Ray Kerr; and son-in-law, Joe Brent Hutchings.

Bearers will be Keith Kerr, Luke Kerr, Chris Roundtree, Kent Kerr, Justin Kerr, and Jacob Brooks. Honorary Bearers are Kenneth Kerr, Taylor Kerr, Jay Tuley, Jeff Hopkins, Keith Ailey, Johnny Hayes, Bobby Freeman and Robert Hayes.
