Ann (Earnest) Kerr

Ann (Earnest) Kerr
July 9, 1936 ~ December 7, 2021

Ann Earnest Kerr was born July 9, 1936, to Sarah (Bleecker) and John Morton Earnest in Shawnee, OK. She passed from this life on December 7, 2021, at the age of 85.

Ann graduated from Enid High School in 1954 and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and Alpha Lambda Delta Scholastic Society. She was a member of Chapter DO of PEO.

Ann married her college sweetheart, Robert L. (Bob) Kerr in 1956 in Enid. They were married for 61 years. They moved to Ardmore in 1962 and established Kerr and Reavis Drug and Gifts in 1974. Ann was involved in the store's gift department until the store was sold in 1999.

Ann was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She served on the Board of the Greater SW Historical Museum from 1988 to 2006. She was also a Board Member of Ardmore Crime Stoppers and Ardmore Main Street Authority where she was instrumental in restoring the old Santa Fe Depot.

She loved her family, many friends and the "hunt" for antiques. Ann also enjoyed going to Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, with the extended Earnest Family, which she did for over 65 years. She was an accomplished artist and cook, and she always had an open door policy for friends and family who wished to visit her.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Earnest; husband, Robert "Bob" Kerr in 2017; sister, Nancy Earnest Ingram in 2012; and brother, John Phillip Earnest in 2021.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard L. "Dick" Kerr and his wife, Cathy Cotton Kerr, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Karl Earnest Kerr of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Colton Anderson Kerr and Katie Jo Kerr of Oklahoma City; and very special cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Last but not least is Dick McKnight, Ann's special friend, making her last four years magical, along with his children and their families with whom she forged an extended family.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 14th, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore, with Don Johnson and Rev. Mary Ellen Waychoff officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions to be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore, Integris Hospice House of Oklahoma City, Enid Hospice House, or to the charity of your choice.

Online condolences can be made at www.craddockfuneralhome.com.
