Lenora Jane Kennedy, age 72, of Council Hill, OK, formerly a longtime resident of Atoka County. She was born on Thursday, July 17, 1952, to Vernon and Opal Frances (Groomer) Calhoun, at Oklahoma City, OK. Lenora passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Muskogee, OK. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, OK with the class of 1970. Lenora was a housewife and homemaker. She married Art Kennedy on Friday, May 17th, 1974 at Oklahoma City, OK. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage before her passing. Lenora was Art's number one sidekick. Lenora enjoyed fishing, playing solitaire, or any game, searching the internet, watching her black and white shows (her grandkids just loved), Golden Girls and shared all about it. She loved waking her grandchildren up with pots and pans and they were her pride and joy.
Lenora is survived by her husband, Art Kennedy of the home in Council Hill, OK; children, Jeff Calhoun and wife Tish of Seligman, MO, Christy Perkins and husband Lonny of Council Hill, OK, April Pearson of Little Elm, TX, Sandy Rose and husband Garett of Kiowa, OK, Timothy Kennedy of Eufaula, OK; stepchildren, Linda Hughston and husband Shaun of Stringtown, OK, Steve Kennedy and wife Brenda of Stringtown, OK, Nancy Thompson of Stringtown, OK, Todd Kennedy of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Justin, Brettney, Byron, Chasity, Harley, Teisa, Shondale, Draven, Noah, Cambria, Uriah, Andreanna, Anthony, Jalyssa, William, Hannah, Zakk, Riley, Mason, Kacee; 23 great grandchildren; brother, Gary Calhoun of Moore, OK; nephew, Shawn Richardson; special coffee drinking friend, Lisa Corp; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Opal Frances
(Groomer) Calhoun; sisters, Willye, Susan; brothers, JP, TJ, Bob, Jerry;
granddaughter, Jennifer Trueblood; inlaws, Roy and Orita Kennedy.
