Marion Gilbert Keever

Marion Gilbert Keever
March 25, 1926 ~ January 11, 2016

Marion Gilbert Keever was called home by his lord and savior January 11, 2016 after a brief stay with The Journey Home End of Life Care Facility. Marion was born March 25, 1926 in Smith Center Kansas to Alfred & Avis Keever. He resided in Smith Center until October of 1942 when he married Nellie Mae Gilbert. He and Nellie had 3 sons, Billy Sr., David and Bud. His life's journeys included a brief time in the navy in 1945 as a Seaman 2/c and he then traveled with his employment as a plumber and also spent time building municipal swimming pools across the US. 18 years ago, Marion and his 2nd wife Mildred Irene Kramer settled in Bartlesville, Ok where Marion enjoyed being outside, camping, his garden, woodworking, fishing with his buddies and he especially enjoyed spending time with his large family and Sunday dinners. Many will remember him for his famous homemade banana ice cream, beautiful blue eyes, loving heart and generous soul. Marion attended New Harmony Baptist Church where he was an active member. He made many friends through his entire life and we know he will be missed by all.

Marion is preceded by his parents, Alfred and Avis Keever, wife, Nellie Mae Keever, 2nd wife, Mildred Irene Keever & 2 sisters, Arvela & Olete. He is survived by 3 sons, Bill Keever Sr & wife Emily of AZ., David Keever & wife Evelyn of OK., and Bud Keever & wife Connie of OK. 4 stepsons, Bob Kramer of CO, Jack Kramer & wife Jean of CO., Danny Kramer of AZ., and Vern Kramer and wife Lou of OK. He had 8 Grand Children, Tammy Garner of GA, Billy Keever Jr of AZ. Rhonda Holtz of AZ., Danny Dragoo of AZ., Terri Mingione of AZ., Misty Godinez of OK. Mike Keever of OK., Lori Masters-Estas of OK. Marion also had a herd of great grandchildren located all over the states. He also has 7 remaining siblings, Leota Arment, Rosalee Gutscher, Iris Jean Rhodes, Walt Keever, Richard Keever, Ora Keever & Alvin Keever.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 1:00 PM at New Harmony Baptist Church. Marion's final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Smith Center Kansas.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made payable to New Harmony Baptist Church (Please reference: Marion Keever). These donations will be presented to "The Journey Home" end of life Hospice care Facility honoring Marion Keever.
