Harold G. “Shorty” Keck, age 81, a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma since 1999, slipped peacefully from this life the evening of October 11, 2022.

Shorty is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary (Massengale) Keck; son H. Dean Keck of Crestview, Florida; grandson, Brandon S. Keck of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Gabriella S. Keck of Pensacola, Florida and sister, Pat Hamilton of Inola, Oklahoma; six brother-in-laws and six sister-in-laws.

Shorty was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on September 27, 1941. He graduated from Fairview HighSchool, where he lettered in football. Shorty attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (Okmulgee Tech) in 1959-1960. In 1960 Shorty met Mary and they were married in October of 1961.

Shorty was an avid reader, huge University of Oklahoma football fan, volunteered at the American Red Cross and very proud to volunteer at Hanger prosthetics as a founding member and model of the self proclaimed “PCDs”-Professional Casting Dummies.

Shorty leaves a legacy of common sense, patience, kindness, and love of family and will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him.

Memorial services will be held at the Sunny Lane United Methodist Church, 2020 South Sunnylane Road, Del City, Oklahoma at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2022. In-lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals (https://www.stjude.org/) or a charity of your choice.
