Services for a former teacher at Leon School, Odell Turner Karstetter, were held November 14 at the Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett, Texas.
Mrs. Karstetter was born October 12, 1916, at Temple, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Turner, and died November 11, 1994, in a Wichita Falls, Texas, hospital.
She had taught school for a number of years, including at Leon in the 1940’s and at Burkburnett for 17 years before retiring. Mrs. Karstetter was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Burkburnett and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She married John Karstetter on October 1, 1942, and he preceded her in death in 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Karstetter of Olathe, Kansas, and Joe Karstetter of Alvin, Texas; a sister, Phyllis Duce of Marlow; a brother, Sam Turner, Jr. of Orlando; and three grandchildren.
