Delora Jean "Dee" (Morris) Kanenchen
December 15, 1935 ~ December 2, 2020

Delora "Dee" Jean Kanenchen, 84, of Del City, Okla., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020. She was born on Dec. 15, 1935, in Enid, Okla., to Frank and Anna Morris.

Dee graduated from Enid High School and sang in the school chorus.

Dee met Richard Daniel Kanenchen while he was stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid and married him on June 7, 1953. They shared a wonderful and loving marriage for 67 years. She retired as an insurance and benefits coordinator at Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 1996.

Dee was "queen" of her Red Hats Chapter, and she owned and operated Special Occasions, a cake and catering service, with her daughters. Dee was a loyal and supportive woman who was frequently sought out for advice and assistance by family and friends. She willingly tackled challenges with grace and dignity. She will be greatly missed.

Dee is survived by her husband, Richard D. Kanenchen; daughters, Deanna Sue Mallow and Danelle Lynn Segal; brother, Dennis Morris; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother Cody. No memorial events are scheduled due to the coronavirus. A memorial service will be scheduled after the holiday season.
