Andrew Marlin Kanady

April 19, 1936 ~ January 5, 2009

ANDREW MARLIN KANADY born April 19, 1936, in Carter, Oklahoma, passed away on January 5, 2009 after a 16 month long battle with cancer.

He is survived by Donna, his wife of 32 years; his sister Sheila Crone of San Bernardino, CA; four loving and very proud children; Steven of Redlands, CA, Randall, Bryan and Victoria, all of San Bernardino, CA; ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and several nephews and nieces.

He joined the Carpenter's Union when he was 20 years old, worked with integrity and honor for nearly 50 years, and retired in 2004.

His path through life gave him the gift of indelibly touching everyone that came to know him. He was not only a great Dad and a wonderful husband; he was also a surrogate Dad to many others. His strong but gentle ways were second to none; he was always lending a hand to those in need. He had an uncanny sense of timing when it came to the profound discussions he had with any one of us; his guidance transcended several generations; and he always left us with a deeper sense of wisdom. It was very apparent when shaking his hand, you knew that he was a man's man: strength and love rolled up into a brief moment. It truly was an honor for him to take care of his entire family for any reason; he always believed it was the responsible thing to do. He epitomized strength and tenderness. He was an exceptional person. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all.

Services will be held at Dese rt Lawn Funeral Home Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 11251 Desert Lawn Drive, Calimesa, CA 92320 (909) 795 2451.
