Thomas E. Jones

April 25, 1926 ~ January 6, 2007

Thomas E. Jones, 80, died Saturday, January 6, 2007 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born April 25, 1926 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the son of Frank R. and Margaret Smith Jones.

A Garden City resident since 1945, moving from Chickasha, Oklahoma, he was a self-employed truck driver.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW, both of Garden City and was a WWII US Army Air Force Veteran. On August 4, 1946 he married Verneta Schweer in Garden City, Kansas.

Other survivors include: 2 Daughters Barbara Fief; Garden City, KS, Debby Wright, Garden City, KS: 3 Sisters Margaret Doucet, Chickasha, OK; June Ford, Lonole, Arkansas; Stella Buckner, Chickasha, OK; 6 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren; and one Great-Great-Grandhild He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Moore, a grandson, Justin Wright, 2 sisters & 2 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City with Pastor Lyle Stuehrenberg presiding.

Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.

Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
