John B. Jones

John B. Jones
April 9, 1949 ~ January 21, 2022

John Jones was born on April 9, 1949, to Chester and Oma (Runabout) Jones. John departed from this life on January 21, 2022, at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

John attended school at Cave Springs High School. At the age of 16 John started working for Greenleaf Nursery in Tahlequah, he was a hardworking man. He was last employed at Schwan’s in Stilwell. John was a deacon in his church and had to step down in 1995 and in 2005 John ended his working days due to his health.

He had a wonderful life. He married his wife: Joanne Jones on April 28, 1981. They enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage. John’s hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, playing music, going to races, fishing, and studying the Bible. Johns’ faith in our Lord never altered. Even in his last days his one request was that his family remain in church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Oma Jones; 4 brothers; John Douglas, George, Billy, and William Jones; 6 sisters: Nancy Mudd, Lila Meeks, Cherokee Jones, Vivian Baber, Barbara Catron, and Jacquline Catron.

John is survived by his wife: Joanne Jones; 2 sons: Jason and Johnella Freeman, and Damon Freeman and wife Bobbi; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Ella Mae Wilson, Gwen Eddings, and Gail Scraper. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, friends, and other relatives.

His Funeral Service was held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
