Frances L. (Walker) Jones

March 18, 1931 ~ March 19, 2009

Frances L. [Walker] Jones, 78, of Cahokia. Illinois, born on March 18, 1931, in Calumet. Oklahoma, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Fountain View Manor in Granite City, Illinois.

Frances was retired from Firemans Fund Insurance, where she was a property adjuster.

She graduated as Salutatorian from Alex High School In Alex, Oklahoma. She was a girl scout leader, den mother, flower lady, published author, square dancer, camper, and motorcycle rider.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amarine and Gracie Walker and a sister, Lois Doshier. Surviving are her husband, Nelson Jones; four children, Leslie (Michael) Miles of St. Louis, MO, Dennis (Sue) Jones of Waterloo, IL. Peggy (Mike) Torry of Cahokia. IL, and David (Gracie) of St. Louis., MO.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Juanita (Raymond) Kratzer and Imogene Goss, both of Oklahoma, Billie Jo Graves and Ellen (Roy) Myers, both of Texas; a brother,Amarine (Barbara) Walker, Jr. of Oklahoma; and a sister-in-law, Patti Walker of Oklahoma.

She was a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, or the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois.

Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. www.braunfh.com
