Clyde Merten Jones Jr.

August 14, 1942 ~ September 13, 2020

Clyde Merten Jones Jr., 78, was born August 14, 1942 in Greely, Colorado. and passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 in Muskogee, Oklahoma in the comfort of his own home with his wife by his side.

Clyde grew up in Greeley, Colorado and attended both undergraduate and graduate classes at numerous universities. Once out of college he started his career in banking. Clyde may have been a banker by day, but his passion was always for the construction industry and anything he could do with cattle and horses, but being a cowboy was his passion.

After a very successful career in banking he decided to turn his passion into his day job. He worked for Williams Construction where he built the power plant in Pryor, Oklahoma for Siemens Westinghouse before starting his own civil construction businesses with the last and most successful being C-A Native Constructors, Inc.

You could call Clyde many things: Daddy, Brother, Son, Grandpa, PaPa, Boss, Cowboy.

Of all the hats Clyde wore, the one he would want to be remembered for was being a husband. Anita was his world and he made sure she knew it all the time. We would all be so lucky to find a love like that once in our lives.

For better or for worse you always knew where you stood with Clyde. He was as black and white as they come. He didn't know any other way to be and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Clyde was loyal. He loved hard and he let you know it. Clyde's handshake and a look in the eye was worth more than any legal contract and better than any piece of paper. Once your hand recovered from the hardest handshake of your life you knew you could take that word to the bank.

The simplest way to explain Clyde Jones, though, was that he was a good man. Clyde was cut from a different cloth and they don't make many like him anymore.

I know one thing for certain: We are all better people because of the time we had with Clyde, no matter how much or how little, than we would have been without him.

Rest easy cowboy. We'll take it from here partner.

Clyde is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Huffman and husband Jack Huffman; and father, Clyde Jones Sr.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Anita Jones of the home; sister, Vickie Huffman of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Dee Jones and family of Ponca City, OK; daughter, Stephanie Neff and husband Jim of Iowa; daughter, Jennifer Rice and husband Shane of Phoenix, AZ; son, Jack "Brandon" Jones of Tahlequah, OK; Erica Pharr and husband Cory of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Rebecca Avezzano and husband Freddy of NC; granddaughter, Andrea "Nicole" Robinson and Fiancé Ryan Green of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Madison Jones of Catoosa, OK; granddaughter, Kasidy Jones; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Abigail Pharr of Phoenix, AZ; Rylan Green of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Kimberly Castor and husband Von of Muskogee, OK; daughter, Stephanie Garner of Muskogee, OK; daughter, Jennifer Braun and Angel Loyd of Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughter, Hillary Pearson and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Cale & Channing Pearson of Muskogee, OK; granddaughter, Haleigh Carrier and husband Alan; great-grandson, Lane Carrier of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Colby Cox, Kalen Castor and Jaron Castor of Muskogee, OK; granddaughter, Lindsey Garner and great-grandson, Canyon Crow; grandson, Gage Garner of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Dylan Miller of Edmond, OK and Rowdy Loyd of Broken Arrow, OK.
