On February 2, 2014 Bobby E. Jones passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. We were lucky to have him in our lives.

Throughout his childhood Bobby lived in the surrounding areas of Oklahoma and Missouri before settling in the Bartlesville, Dewey area.

His working career included paint and body work and truck driving, before he began his passion in the oilfield. In the early 70's he purchased Dwight Jones Tank Trucks from his father and mentor. Continuing with his success in the oilfield he retired as an independent oil producer due to his health.

Bobby was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed stock car racing, OU Football, and thoroughbred horseracing, but the biggest love he had was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

In 1972 he married Nancy Carter. They were married 41 great years. In a previous union he had three children.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Nancy Rae (Carter) Jones of the home in Dewey, by a son Bobby Jones Jr. and wife Leona of Copan, Oklahoma, by a daughter Tanna Lewis and husband Steve of Shidler, Oklahoma, one brother Ed Jones of Bartlesville, by five grandchildren, Danee Marie Jones of Shidler, Oklahoma, Shawn Jones and wife Kat of Grainola, Oklahoma, Clinton Howard of Copan, Cody Holmes and wife Brittany of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Walter Jackson of Bartlesville, three great-grandchildren; Seth Jones, Krissa Jones, and Jaxon Jones, and by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight R. and Gertrude I. Jones, by a daughter Janna Holmes, Brother Don Jones, and a sister Betty Daniel.

The following which express the feelings of his family was written by his granddaughter Danee Jones.

"I don't know how many people have heard but my grandpa is in the hospital they said he keeps getting worse and wont make it….Everyone who had not got a chance to meet him does not know what a real man is….My grandpa never made anyone around him do anything but smile he taught everyone in the family to stay strong and be who they are…I wish that I could be like him but then again there will never be anyone in the world like him he is truly one of a kind there's never been a love so strong then the love he has had for our family…I think we all agree we aren't just loosing a family member but our best friend, our live teacher, and the glue that held our family together through thick and thin…If you could only see how many people are here for him…It's unbelievable how much this one man has changed so many people's lives and seeing all this has truly gave me a new perspective on life even tho he can't talk or see any of us he still listens and has yet still taught everyone here a lesson life…The last words he told everyone when he could talk was "don't be sad for me, I'm going home, I need to be there it's my time, let me go and be happy cause its what I want" I'm going to miss you grandpa so much I love you!"
