Ben F. Johnson

January 25, 1903 ~ March 15, 1997

Services for Ben F. Johnson, 94, were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, Texas. Officiating was Rev. Kenneth Cole of the First Christian Church of Gainesville.

Mr. Johnson was born January 25, 1903, at Overbrook, Indian Territory, the son of Benjamin Lee and Bertie Ella Johnson, and died Saturday, March 15, 1997, in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Johnson and the former Thelma F. Sadler were married September 17, 1930, in Durant. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Gainesville and the Masonic Lodge #210.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Johnson; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Straw of Richardson, Texas; two granddaughters; and a special niece, Mrs. Leonard Rice of Marietta.

Services were directed by Clement-Keel Funeral Home with interment in the New Rest Haven Cemetery. Assisting as pallbearers were Joel Street, Calvin Suggs, Royce Mellot, W.J. Idell, Jack Holt and James Lane.
