Danny Lee Jestis

June 15, 1941 ~ March 27, 2009

A memorial service honoring Danny and his life with us will be held at the Bokchito Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Ministers Landon Jestis and Bill Ledbetter will lead us in thoughts and prayers.

Danny lost his battle with cancer and passed from this life on March 27, 2009.

He was born June 15, 1941, to Horace E. and Lucille Jestis of Bokchito, Oklahoma.

He was raised in the Bryan Community and was a 1959 graduate of Bokchito High School.

Danny was married to Anna "Cookie" L. Kersh on August 21, 1960, at Durant, Oklahoma. They made their home in Euless, Texas where he was employed by Southwestern Bell.

He moved his family back to Bryan County in 1970 and continued his employment with Bell {AT&T} until his retirement in 1990. After his retirement he worked part-time for the US Postal Service.

In his retirement years Danny loved to fish and became quite good at it. He will be remembered for his unique personality and his free-hearted spirit and will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him.
