Edward Leslie Jensen, 78, a resident of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on January 24, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Edward was born on February 10, 1942 in Council Bluffs, IA to Edward and Ruth (Leslie) Jensen.

Edward grew up and attended school in Council Bluffs. In 1959, he joined the United States Army where he served our country for 3 years. While in the Army, Edward moved to Orange County, CA, where he met Betty Rains. They were married on December 3, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Later they made their home in Prague.

Edward enjoyed fishing, having fish fries, camping, and gardening. He especially enjoyed gardening tomatoes, which were the “pride and joy” of his efforts.

Most of all, Edward was a family man, who greatly loved and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He leaves behind his beloved “sidekick”, his chihuahua, Paco.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ruth Jensen; a brother, Terry Jensen; two sisters, Becky Grapp and Mary Pierce; and a grandson, Damon Palmer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Betty Jensen; two daughters, Sherri Palmer and her husband, Thomas, and Shannon Thorpe, and her husband Al; a son, Shaun Jensen and his wife Nichole; two granddaughters, Tristan Edge and her husband, Michael, and Taylor Bley, and husband, Joseph; six grandsons, Nathan Jensen and his wife, Alicia, Tanner Thorpe and his wife, Micah, Brady Thorpe, Gage Auld, Gant Palmer and Hayley Dale, and Trent Palmer and Haley Brodine; four great grandsons, Cooper Edge, Jackson Bley, Tyson Fox and Dayson Palmer, three great granddaughters, Emersyn Edge, Presley Edge, Collyns Bley and several nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.

Edward’s family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of plants and flowers, his family request donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Edward's name.
