Manford Clyde Jenkins, 91, passed away on the evening of December 12, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his father, Wade Hampton Jenkins; his mother Teresa Magdalene (Meagher) Jenkins; and sisters Violet Ernestine Arnold and Edith Mae Oswald.

Born on January 27, 1924, Manford graduated from Guthrie High School and joined the USMC in 1942, serving in WWII as a PFC light anti-aircraft gun crewman, specializing in marksmanship with a rifle. He was wounded in action and honorably discharged in February 1945, and awarded the Purple Heart.

When he returned home he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk, then a rural letter carrier until he retired after 30 years of service. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 58.

Manford is survived by his wife of 66-years, Thelma Jenkins of Edmond, and their three daughters Tana Jenkins of Saint Cloud, Florida, Jeanne Jenkins of Edmond, and Janice May and husband Phillip of Tulsa. Manford also leaves granddaughters Jessica May of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Erica May of Tulsa, along with many cherished family members. He was loved greatly, and will be dearly missed by all.

Private graveside services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
