Deborah Ellen (Streeter) James
May 18, 1953 ~ July 24, 2014

Deborah Ellen James, Lawton, was born May 18, 1953 in Port Smith, Virginia to Benjamin and Lee [Keesoon] Streeter. She died at a local hospital on July 24, 2014 at the age of 61. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:00am in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel.

Deborah grew up in a military family and lived in many locations, including Kentucky, Virginia and Germany. She met William James at college in Richmond, Virginia and they were married on May 19, 1973. They moved to Lawton in 1975 where they retired.

Deborah enjoyed reading, gardening, and was an avid collector of many itmes to include stamps, dolls, figurines and owls.

She was active in the Lawton Community as a Boy Scout Den Mother and Troop Leader, Council executive board committee chairman, and the Optimist Club treasurer and secretary. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. She will be missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death her father, Benjamin Streeter, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, William, of Odessa, TX; sons, Matthew James and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City and Seth James of Lawton; mother, Lee Keesoon Streeter of Virginia; grandchildren, Ciara Alexus James of Lawton and Jaedon and Greyson Malakai James of Oklahoma City; brothers, Benjamin Streeter III of Maryland and Kevin Streeter and wife Noni of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Karen Walker.
