Rodney Barton Irving

July 16, 1957 ~ July 22, 2022

Rodney Barton Irving passed from this life on July 22, 2022, at the age of 65.

Rod was born on July 16, 1957, in Albia, Iowa the son of Walter Barton and Mildred Irene (Beever) Irving. Rod grew up and attended school in Chariton, Iowa graduating with the Class of 1975. Following high school Rod joined the United States Navy. Radio Man Second Class Rod Irving was stationed aboard the USS Mount Vernon LSD-39 where he served for nearly five years. Upon his discharge Rod moved to Portland, Oregon. On December 10, 1980 in Vancouver, Washington, Rod was united in marriage to Kimberly Manning. The couple remained in Portland, Oregon until they moved to Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Rod gained employment with Haliburton working on a frack crew. In 1990, moved to the Tulsa area and in 1992 moved to the Peninsula Area of Cleveland. Rod has worked for Sonoco Products for the past 12 years as their electrical and mechanical maintenance man.

Rod was an avid musician and a member of several local groups in the area. Uncle Rumple gave him the most joy and the best friends. Going on vacation with his grandkids were always memorable events.

Survivors are his wife Kim, three children Brandi Irving of Kellyville, Oklahoma, Alex Irving and his wife Robin of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Chelsea Irving of Ft. Collins, Colorado, one brother Roger Irving of Chariton, Iowa, one sister Diana Irving of Chariton, Iowa; five grandchildren Ashton Irving, Sophia Occhuizzo, Addylynn Irving, Rowan Irving and Josiah Crawford and numerous other relatives and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mildred Irving.
