Oliver Earl Hixson

Oliver Earl Hixson
December 14, 1945 ~ February 20, 2018

Born December 14, 1945 in Shattuck, OK to Daniel and Mary Hixson, Oliver attended Arnett schools, graduating in 1964. He later obtained an Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology from OSU in Stillwater. While always a rancher at heart and in practice, he earned the title of Electrical Contractor where he worked in industrial and oil field locations until he retired in 2017. He lived in various places in Oklahoma including Vian, Valient, Claremore, Stillwater, Woodward, and Harmon. He also lived and worked in Kansas, Texas and California.

He was baptized in the Church of Christ in Gage at age 8.

In 1967 Oliver married Eula Martin of Yale. To this union was born three daughters; Kristi, Angie and Kathy. In this same year he joined the Navy where he earned the rank MM3-E4 as a machinist aboard the cruiser S.S. Everett Larson in the North China Sea during the Viet Nam conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

In 1974 he married Carolyn Murphy of Valient. Joined this union was Craig and later were born DeWayne and Deven.
On September 4, 1992 Oliver married Arleen Dishen of Arnett, adding daughter Tiffany to his family.

Oliver is preceded in death by his parents and as well as his daughter, Angie and son, Deven.

He is survived by his wife Arleen of the home; his sister Della and Wally Creech (Bixby, OK); Kristi and Tracy Nicholas (Cushing, OK) and their children Dylan, Krystan, and Dalton; Kathy and Andy Addis (Hutchinson, KS) and their children Noah and Nathan; DeWayne and Paula Hixson (Bentonville, AR) and their children Jaz, Katelyn and Deven; Tiffany Pretty and her children Savannah, Rayna and Alexis (Woodward, OK); Craig and Suzanne Murphy (Glendale, AZ) and their child Mckenzie; two nieces Karen and Kay, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Harmon Fire Department or the Harmon Church of the Nazarene Building Fund 59895 SCR 193, Arnett, OK 73832.
