William Dean "Billy" Hitchcock
November 14, 1936 ~ June 11, 2016

William Dean "Billy" Hitchcock was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 14, 1936, son of James C. Hitchcock and Jessie L. Scribner. He passed away June 11, 2016 in Kiowa, Kansas. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Catholic Church in Kiowa, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

He was married to Lois Ann Ricke in 1956.

In 1984 he married Elke Brunhild Tucker, she passed away September 27, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Flora Mae Rigney and Ethel Ashlock; brothers, James Hitchcock and L.E. "Sonny" Hitchcock.

Bill moved from Tulsa to Kiowa in 1957 and worked on the farm at Hazelton. He soon took a job at the Kiowa Locker System for Marvin and Toni Rodkey. In 1966 he was manager at Anthony Cold Storage. In 1969 he entered into partnership with Milford Powell at the Anthony Meat Company, where he worked as butcher and meat cutter until taking employment with Kansas Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector. In 1970 he and Robert Ricke, purchased the Kiowa Locker System. He retired in 2004.

Survivors are his four children Ricke Dean and wife, Belinda of Kiowa, Nicke William and wife, Deb of Kiowa, Vicke Clepper and husband, David of Cherokee, Oklahoma, and Dirk Tucker and wife, Michelle of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Angela Allison (Kevin), Wreath Hitchcock, Matt Clepper (Shawna), Jay Clepper (Mandy), Trey Clepper, Jadde Easter (Nate), Dru Henson (Roy), and Troy Tucker; eleven great-grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Hitchcock, Dylan and Adrienne Allison, Trenton and Bailey Clepper, Hadley and Bentley Easter and Blaine, Makaela and Hayden Dungan; sisters, Karon Bean and Sharon Holdorf, Broomfield Colorado.

Memorials may be made to South Wind Hospice and sent to Lanman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 42, Kiowa, Kansas 67070.
