Dewell Herschell "Bud" Hill

March 15, 1933 ~ March 6, 2018

Dewell Herschell “Bud” Hill passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Durant, OK at the age of 84. He was born on March 15, 1933 to Andrew Herschell Hill and Irena Angeline Harmon in Caddo, OK.

Bud attended Tushka Public Schools. He was enlisted in The United States Army from 1953 – 1977. He served our country in both the Korean War and Vietnam. He obtained the rank of sergeant while serving in the US Army. He received several honors and medals including; the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal (4 Campaigns). Bud was also a member of the Caddo #3 Masonic Lodge and was of the Baptist faith. After the military, he worked as a barber and owned Bud’s Barber Shop in Caddo, OK.

He is preceded in death by; his father, Andrew Herschell Hill; mother, Irena Angeline Harmon Hill; brother, Howell Henry Hill; sisters, Flonnie Florine “Sis” Hill, Nina Jereline “Jerri” Hadley and Rachell Lois Hill Speers.

Bud is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Bud's life was one of service and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family will accept friends Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at 119 N. Henderson in Caddo. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
