Susan Jane Hicks, born on April 6, 1947, in Pryor, Oklahoma,
passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78.
She lived a life marked by her love for family, creativity, and the simple
pleasures that brought joy to her days.
Throughout her life, Susan nurtured her passion for crocheting, creating beautiful baby blankets that showcased her creativity and warmth. Additionally, she developed an extensive collection of cookbooks, reflecting her fondness for cooking, especially in her younger years. Family reunions were a cherished tradition for Susan, and she treasured the time spent with her loved ones, recalling joyful memories and making new ones.
At the heart of her life was her love for her grandson, Charles Moore of Broken Arrow, OK. Their bond brought her immense joy and fulfillment, as spending time with him was one of her greatest delights.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Moore of Broken Arrow, OK; her sisters, Reva McDonald of Broken Arrow, OK, and Evola Lampkin (Lloyd) of Claremore, OK; and her beloved grandson, Charles Moore of Broken Arrow, OK, who all remember her as a kind soul with a gentle spirit.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Rosa (York) Jeffery; her husband, Lawrence W. Hicks, Sr.; her son, Lawrence W. Hicks, Jr.; two brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held. A come and go visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
