Minnie Jessie (Lewis) Hicks

March 26, 1915 ~ Oct. 24, 2001

Minnie Jessie Hicks died peacefully on Oct. 24, 2001, in her Winters residence, at the age of 86. She was born in Romia, Okla., on March 26, 1915, to the late Thomas and Ollie Lewis.

She is survived by her children, Joy Mills of Winters, Billy Hicks of Davis, Ellen Rutledge and husband Bob of Dixon, and Esther Brewer and husband Dale of Winters; and grandchildren and their spouses, Pam and Ray Gilliam, Debra and Craig Walker, Lisha and Howard Shaw, Barbara and Nick Stacey, Rich and Cindy Rutledge, and Brenda McFadden. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Russell Hicks, on July 8, 2001.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the Capay Cemetery in Esparto.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Winters Healthcare Foundation, 7 Main St., Winters, CA 95694.

McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
