J. D. Hicks

RAVIA -- Services for J. D. Hicks, 72, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Rock Harbor Church with brother Jon Smith officiating.

Born August 18, 1931, in Troy to William Thomas and Nora Henderson Hicks, he died June 25, 2004 in Ardmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bozo Hicks.

He spent most of his life in Johnston County.

He was a cement finisher and had attended Catholic school at Ardmore.

Survivors include three daughters, Ginger Hicks Jester, Denton, Texas; Angela Hicks Behrens, Ardmore; and Kelli Hicks Phillips, Ardmore; four sisters, Elouise Johnson and Cecelia Hicks, of the home; Lottie Routzong, Mill Creek; and Hiawatha Reed, Troy; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a niece and nephew, the mother of his children, Nelda Henry, Atoka; and other relatives and friends.

Bearers are Steven "Doc" Bell, Chickasaw Nation Lt. Gov. Jefferson Keel, Jerry Keel, Brad Jester, Tony Roberts and David Miller. Honorary bearers are Albert Akins, Harrison Gilbert, Jack Smith, Randy Graham, Mike Woodruff and Mike McSwain.

Visitation is 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. today.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home Tishomingo.
