Bruce R. "Chip" Hicks
December 13, 1949 ~ June 19, 2017

Chip Hicks was born on December 13, 1949, to Bill and Alice (Kelly) Hicks in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and passed away in Temecula, California, on June 19, 2017.

He moved to Enid, OK with his parents in 1961, and graduated from Enid High School in 1968. He attended the University of Oklahoma, and graduated from Northwestern State University in 1972. Chip was an outstanding athlete in track, football, and baseball, and played on two Enid Plainsmen State Champion football teams. He pitched on championship Enid High School and American Legion baseball teams, and received a scholarship to pitch for the University of Oklahoma.

He married Claire Marie Oven on May 28, 1977, in Enid and they had three children, Thomas Adam, William David, and Helen Marie. Chip spent a long and successful career in the financial planning and investment counseling field, most recently with Christiana Trust. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an accomplished hunter, boat captain, and snow skier. He resided in some beautiful parts of the country, including Bainbridge Island, Washington, the Colorado Springs area, and Fallbrook in Southern California.

He was a wonderful father to his three children, a loving grandfather, a great friend, and a credit to his profession. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah of Fallbrook, and his three children, Adam and wife Bethany, of Parker, CO, Helen and husband K. C. Donner, of Portland, Oregon, and William and wife Allison, of Boone, NC, and five grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Bill.

At his request, his remains were cremated and will be spread on his favorite beach. No local service is planned.
