Betty (Schurman) Morrison Hess

July 8, 1924 ~ October 18, 1982

Wakita – Betty (Morrison) Hess, 58, a resident of San Francisco, California, since 1952, died there Wednesday morning, October 18, 1982 after a lengthy illness.

She was born Betty Schurman on July 8, 1924, at Troy, Kansas. She was married to Ray Morrison and later married Larry Hess February 2, 1952, in San Francisco.

Mrs. Hess is survived by her husband Larry of the home; two sons, Gary Morrison of Wakita and Dean Hess of the home in San Francisco; a daughter, Vonnie Stoia, Mineral Park, California; her mother, Mrs. Verna Schurman of Lawrence, Kansas; a brother, Kenneth Schurman of Tulsa; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Kreider, Lawrence, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hess will be at 1 PM Saturday in the Sawin – Dyer Mortuary Chapel in Atchison, Kansas, with burial following in the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Atchison.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Morrison Funeral Home of Wakita.
