The visitation for Bruce D. Heidemann will be from 2:00PM-4:00PM Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. There will be full military honors. Bruce's wishes were to be cremated following the visitation.

He was born May 12, 1933 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Charlie and Ester Heidemann and died Wednesday, March 09, 2016 at his home with his family at his side. He attended Wausau schools and graduated from Wausau High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy After his honorable discharge, he immediately enlisted in the United States Army. He did numerous tours of duty during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.

He was a Ham Radio operator and Morse Code Intercepter. He received the Bronze Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Outstanding Service Medal(Europe), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm, and the Vietnam Civic Acrion Honor Medal.

On October 21,1967 he married Gloria Bissonette in Ayer, Mass. The couple moved around the country wherever the Army took them. Bruce retired from the Army on May 31, 1974. The couple retired to Enid in 2002. He was an avid Ham Radio enthusiast, reader, chef, pool-shooter, bowler, water-skier, fisherman, sports fan, and mostly , jokester.

He is survived by his wife Gloria of the home, 5 children; Duane Heidemann and wife Jane, Lori and Jim Neigenfind, Dana Heidemann and wife Theresa, Tony Oteri, David Heidemann, and Christopher and wife Melisa Bunner. Three grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
