Junior Hawley

Aug. 20, 1923 ~ Aug. 27, 2005

Junior Hawley   Graveside services for Junior will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd., on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. Junior would love for everyone to come to the services casually dressed just like at the reunions.

Junior is survived by his loving wife Muriel; five children, Bobby, Micky, Robert, JoAnn and Jack; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers JP and Bill who he loved to play poker with and numerous family members and friends.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Donna Kay and one granddaughter, Bryce.

He was born in Boswell, OK and came to Bakersfield over 50 years ago and started a very successful produce business. Recently, selling cherries up by Mesa Marin was what he will be known for. Over the years, he has had produce stands all over Bakersfield. His regulars couldnt wait to taste the sweetness of his produce from season to season.

Family reunions, poker games and home grown sliced tomatoes brought a sparkle to his eye. He was a good simple man who loved his family. He was loved by many and we will all miss him very much.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary. After the service a gathering will be held to celebrate Juniors life at Kern Canyon Estates Clubhouse, 8536 Kern Canyon Road.
