Vivian Lee (Mickle) Hawkins

Vivian Lee (Mickle) Hawkins
July 10, 1943 ~ August 21, 2018

Vivian passed away at Greenbrier Nursing home after a lengthy illness.

She was the daughter of V.C. "Mick" and Oda Lee Mickle. She attended school in Enid and was in the Enid High School graduating class of 1961.

Throughout her childhood and teenage years, she was passionate about dance and spent much of her free time working with Elizabeth Williams and her dance school in Enid.

She attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and graduated with both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education.

Upon graduation, she accepted a teaching position in the Hennessy school system before eventually taking a position at a number of elementary schools in and around Enid. She loved to teach children to read and was sought after by parents who wanted their children in her classroom. She spent many harvest seasons working at Johnston Grain.

Upon retirement, she moved to a horse property on the south side of Enid where she had her own horse, War Paint, and boarded others. She also loved and cared for numerous other dogs and cats.

She is survived by her 100 year-old mother, Oda Lee of Enid, her brother, Patrick Mickle of San Juan Capistrano, California, and two nieces, also of California.

Plans for a memorial service are pending with Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Condolences may be made at www.EnidWeCare.com.
