Jimmie Donald Hawkins, 86, passed away on June 30, 2026.
Jim was born on July 22, 1939, in Oglesby, Oklahoma, to Lewis and Opal Hawkins. He grew up in Oglesby and graduated from Caney Valley High School with the Class of 1958.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army from June 1962 to June 1964 and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. During his military service, he often spent weekend passes with his friend Charles and Charles's family in Alabama. It was there that Jim met the love of his life, Shirley. The couple was married on December 24, 1963, and later made their home in Oglesby, Oklahoma.
Jim worked for REDA Pump for more than 20 years before retiring in 1992. He found great joy working year-round in the pecan grove alongside Shirley, as well as Charlie and Grace Cunningham.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Pamela Parks and Nina Brown; his grandchildren, Ashley Parks, Jennifer Osborne and husband Tony, Craig Farris and wife Amy, Chelsey Wilbert and wife Ali, Kalob Combs and wife Keri, Wyatt Brown and fiancée Jaslyn, and Sarah Brown and boyfriend Kamron; and his great-grandchildren, Zane Griggs, Lathe Griggs, Harper Osborne, Alex Farris, Bentley Combs, Rory Combs, Knollyn Combs, Camile Combs, Ruger Combs, and Honey Grace Combs.
He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Thompson and Phyllis Hawkins; his brother-in-law, Rodney Phillips; his niece, Crystal Nail and husband Nathan; his nephews, Adam Phillips and wife Amy, Bobbie Hawkins and wife Joyce, and Dean Hawkins and wife Barbara; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Hawkins; his parents, Lewis and Opal Hawkins; and his son-in-law, Michael Brown.
