David Harzman, 67 year old Arnett resident, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at his home in Arnett. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
David Thomas Harzman was born on October 3, 1957 in Alva, Oklahoma to Bill and Sue (Board) Harzman. David grew up in Edmond and Alva, Oklahoma and graduated from Alva High School in 1976. He was inducted into the Oklahoma National Guard in 1976 and was honorably discharged in 1982 a Sergeant E-5.
He was united in marriage to Vicki Lyon on December 28, 1979 in Alva, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Alva before moving to Woodward and later Arnett.
Harz, as most knew him by, spent much of his career in oilfield sales and service, building strong relationships and earning the respect of all who worked alongside him. Outside of work, he found great joy on the football field as a referee and on the basketball court coaching "His Guys" and "His Guys 2.0". His dedication to the teams and kids he mentored was unmatched and his influence left a lasting mark on many young lives. Above all else, Harz was proudest of his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved to chase, cheer for, and spoil. He was their biggest fan and watching them do what they loved brought him the most joy.
He was a member of OERB and loved golfing, yard work, fishing, chasing grandkids.
David is survived by his wife Vicki Harzman of the home; two daughters: Ashley Miller and husband Brandon, Amanda Whitson and husband Will; five grandchildren: Ava, Maci, and Bo Miller, Sloane and Sutton Whitson; one sister Jennifer Fusco and husband John; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, uncles, Nick, Mike, and Kim Harzman, aunt and uncle, Suzy Resler and Pete Resler, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gloyd and Dorothy Lyon.
