Memorial services celebrating the life of Dale Harvey of Marietta, OK, are set for 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017, in the Marietta School Auditorium. Officiating will be Pastor Kent House with a eulogy by Trent Harvey.
Born August 10, 1961, in Fort Sumner, NM, Mr. Harvey was the son of Gene and Judy Watts Harvey. He passed away Tuesday, November 21, at Gainesville, TX, at the age of 56.
Known worldwide as a horse trainer and breeder, Dale had been a resident of Love County since August 1992. He and Cheryl L. Weigel were married in River Falls, WI, on January 28, 1989, and together they had established a very successful horse facility near Marietta. Everyone who knew Dale was well aware that his work was his passion.
He was very active in the National Cutting Horse Association and the National Reining Horse Association as well as Marietta's Eastside Baptist Church. As an ambassador for Jesus, Dale was a deacon at Eastside Baptist Church, served as a greeter/usher and also was the Sunday School teacher for the 6th grade boys. In addition, he was also one of the founding members of the Cross and Crown Ministries in Marietta. Dale knew that his ultimate destination was heaven, and his desire was to bring with him as many as possible.
Preceding him in death were his father, and paternal and maternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Cheri Harvey of the home; mother, Judy Harvey, also of Marietta; son, Trent Robert Harvey and wife Mercedes of Valley View, TX; daughter, Kelly Lynn (Harvey) Perez and husband, Mario of Marietta; brother, Bryan Harvey and wife Cindy of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Gina Armstrong and husband Blaire of Bloomfield, NM, and Annette Schonhoeft and husband Ross of Kerrville, TX; grandson, Drey Mario Perez; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as honorary bearers are Casey Deary, Jordan Larson, Jason Vanlandingham, Leonardo Arcese, Tom McCutcheon, and Dean Latimer.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the Cross and Crown Ranch immediately following the memorial service.
