Robert Eugene Hartshorne II
November 8, 1936 ~ June 22, 2020

Mr. Robert Eugene Hartshorne II, (Brother Bob), 83, of Ponca City, has gone to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday June 22, 2020 at 3 PM at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. He was being treated with comfort and care as he was at his last stage of pulmonary fibrosis.

Mr. Hartshorne was born at Ponca City, Oklahoma on November 8, 1936 the son of William Todd Hartshorne and Lillian Edith (Williams) Hartshorne. He has served in the United States Navy as a cook, had been active as a commercial painter and masonry work and had worked with his mother in a donut shop: Sunshine Donuts. He had lived in Tyler, Texas in the 1990’s until moving to Ponca City in 1997. He had been active in the Lion’s Club and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. In younger years he had also been active as a bull rider in rodeos.

Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Willis of Tulsa, Debi Hastings of North Carolina, Rebecca High of Bartlesville and Mary Hartshorne of Norman, one son, Robert E. Hartshorne III of Florida, a very special friend, Ginny Bloom of Ponca City, six grandchildren, B.T. Robinson, Ian Robinson, Amber Osteen, Alexis Watson, Daniel High, and Courtneay Zeek, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a daughter, Elisha Hartshorne.

Memorial services for Mr. Hartshorne will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Faith Tabernacle, 501 S. 5th in Ponca City. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville.
