James Cecil "Jimmy" Harris

James Cecil "Jimmy" Harris
April 7, 1956  ~  December 6, 2023

James Cecil "Jimmy" Harris departed this life December 6, 2023 in Catoosa, Oklahoma at the age of 67. Jimmy never fully recovered from a bad stroke in 2018. Jimmy was born in Claremore, Oklahoma and grew up in Tulsa. He attended McLain and Sperry High Schools, eventually attending Sequoyah Boarding School in Tahlequah where he graduated in 1974. He also attended Bacone Jr College in Muskogee. His last employer was K&B Machinery in Claremore, and Star Machine in Tulsa.

Jimmy was proud of his sobriety from alcohol and never lost his devotion to bible study and attending church was his favorite way of whiling away time. He had few, if any, enemies. He carried the teachings from childhood and what we were taught in church growing up. He tried his best to talk the talk and walk the walk. None of us are perfect, and even Jimmy would convince you of that. But he was a man of God and loved his lord. He will be greatly missed.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents James & Cecelia Cox Harris, sisters Jackie Oberly, Debbie Turner and brother Charley. As well as his paternal grandparents William & Daisy Mae Eshelman-Harris, and maternal grandparents Joe & Gladys Graves-Cox. He is survived by his brother Joe, Tulsa and sisters Henryetta Gloyne, Cherokee, NC and Gloria Harris, Tulsa, OK. As well as numerous relatives and friends from near and far.

Jimmy will be at the Grayhorse Community Building starting today, Friday, December 8th at noon and remain there until his Service. It will begin 8 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11 at the Grayhorse Community Building.

Services for Jimmy will be held on Monday, December 11, 2024, 9 a.m., at the Grayhorse Community Building. Burial will follow at a private family cemetery in Sperry, Oklahoma.
