Alma Mae (VanBlaricom) Harris

January 13, 1934. ~ January 02, 2022

Alma Mae VanBlaricom Harris, 87, died peacefully at home in Catoosa, Ok, 1-2-2022 following an extended illness. A private memorial is pending.

Alma is the second child of Floyd Franklin VanBlaricom, Sr. and Lillian E Long VanBlaricom born January 13, 1934. She graduated from College High School in Bartlesville in 1952 and later completed a business and bookkeeping certificate at Bartlesville Business College. She married B Zane Garrett 5-15-1954. They had four children. Alma was employed at Graham-Rogers Insurance in Bartlesville for many years prior to retiring in 1989.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Lillian VanBlaricom; her older brother, Floyd Fay VanBlaricom, Jr. and Darlene Fay Baker VanBlaricom, his wife; Roy D and Jana VanBlaricom, her younger brother and his wife; her son-in-law, Michael D. Briggs; and two nieces, Cheri L VanBlaricom Mattonen and Robin L VanBlaricom Sevier.

She is survived by her children, Steven Glenn and Deborah Garrett of Bells, Tx; Lilli-marie Garrett Briggs of Bartlesville, Ok; Gary Zane and Cynthia Garrett of Bartlesville, Ok; Floyd James and Lisa Leigh Parenti Garrett of Catoosa, Ok; Cheryl A VanBlaricom Leeds and Robert H Leeds, her niece and her husband; and four nephews: Lloyd, Michael, Donald, and Mathew VanBlaricom; her grandchildren, Joseph Garrett, Joel and Angela Garrett Holmstrom, Nathan Briggs, James and Sonya Briggs, David Briggs, Bill and Amber Bratten, and Adam and Shannon Neckar, as well 13 great-grandchildren.

Alma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. She loved her family, her many animals, reading, writing, working puzzles, singing, dancing, hiking and fishing.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local ASPCA in her memory.
